Iberia Holding has presented its application to the respectable management of Antwerp International Airport to approve and facilitate organization of an annual 4 days event The International Aviation Intermodal Trade Fair during a total 7 days which is required for preparation, installation and dismantle of exhibition indoor booth saloons with at least about 1,500 m2 and outdoor space for static presentation of the aircraft and equipment of the participants. This trade fair shall host a panel for Government and Industry leaders to discuss their views on the topic of event and more to the benefit of our participants and visitors and to the promotion of Antwerp International Airport.

Iberia Holding has announced its keen interest and readiness to Antwerp Airport to organise the first International Aviation Intermodal Trade Fair during 5-8 September 2019.

An excellent opportunity would be the introduction of Antwerp International Airport as the Hub to not only the existing Intermodal Solutions of the port of Antwerp, a collaboration within the Antwerp port community that provides solutions to further improve connectivity with the hinterland but to the logistic value chain as a complementary shackle.

International Airport of Antwerp Access to/from new target regions with new intermodal solutions and promotion of the modal split, are two aims of this aviation unit. The implementation of an Aviation Intermodal Solution at International Airport of Antwerp could be therefore building numerous strategic partnerships with hinterland hubs/terminals promoting more flights to Antwerp Airport and thereby attracting the investment required for expansion and construction of new terminals leading to more prosperity for the region of Antwerp which already has the international fame and stands with a reputable Brand in the transportation industry.

Objectives:

• facilitating new intermodal services to a selective group of professional passengers and precious cargo/urgent which require immediate and urgent transportation;

• facilitating new intermodal terminals for high value cargo transportation;

Convenient online search functions consistently chart the aviation and intermodal connections between Antwerp Airport and the offshore, overseas and European destinations.

This online tool “SkyModal” shall be an entry to all information on the airport’s aviation and intermodal solutions.

• An interactive map giving an overview of all container terminals and their services in the port of Antwerp.

• An online route planner offering visibility on intermodal connections between the Airport of Antwerp, Offshore and European inland terminals. The module shall indicate the most adapted transport modes, schedules and operators to reach your destination Offshore and in the European hinterland.

The existing Maritime Intermodal Solution in the Port of Antwerp consists of No fewer than 200 container terminals and 70 intermodal transport operators from 15 European countries who have joined the Maritime platform, thereby making it a unique tool. Our aim for the future is to complement the existing solution with that of Antwerp Airport for many more terminals to join this Western European platform.
